Smoking is banned in public places: Who follows?

I still remember that the Union Health Ministry banned smoking in public places across India, from October 02nd 2008 onwards. Its been over 2 years but it has not yet been taken seriously by any of the smokers.

As responsible citizens of India, we need to ensure that people who smoke at public places must be punished, as smoking at public places is an offense. So what is the best solution for this?

As there has been a very poor response to the government’s initiative, the government has now provided us with a telephone number. If you find anyone across India smoking at public places, call the number and report it. Necessary actions will be taken against them and will be penalized too.

So if you find anyone smoking at offices, colleges, hospitals, malls, restaurants, outside a hotel, bakery, railway station, bus stand or at any public place, call 1800-110-456 (toll-free) and report it. Let us join hands to build a better city, better state and a better India!

Quite insightful post. Never believed that it was this simple after all. I had spent a very good deal of my time looking for someone to explain this topic clearly and you’re the only one that ever did that. Kudos to you! Keep it up
